  • Dr Hans Nibel, chief engineer at Benz & Cie. since 1908 and co-responsible for the joint design office of the community of interests with Dr Ferdinand Porsche from 1925, assumes sole responsibility as chief engineer of Daimler-Benz AG after Porsche leaves the company at the end of 1928.

  • The Mercedes-Benz Nürburg 460 (W 08) makes its debut at the Paris Motor Show. The model presented is a revised version with more elegant bodywork and a low frame. The Mercedes-Benz 350 Mannheim (W 10), a further development of the 14/60 hp 3.5-litre model first built in 1928, is also unveiled.
