The 540 K (W 29) with more powerful 5.4-litre supercharged engine is unveiled at the Paris Motor Show as the successor to the 500 K. Also celebrating its premiere is the 230 (W 143), which is based on the 200 (W 21) and serves as its successor. The 2.3-litre six-cylinder engine develops 55 hp / 40 kW, 15 hp / 11 kW more than its 2-litre sibling.
