  • Date
    10 August 1888
  • Description
From the yard of the Daimler factory on the Seelberg hill in Cannstatt, Leipzig bookseller Dr Friedrich Hermann Wölfert sets off in his motorised airship. It is propelled by a Daimler single-cylinder engine, producing 2 hp / 1.5 kW at 700 rpm. This maiden flight of a motorised airship ends in Kornwestheim, about four kilometres away.
On August 10, 1888, they set off in calm weather from the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft site in Seelberg on a test, which took them out toward Kornwestheim where the dirigible balloon landed four kilometers later without difficulty
