Upgraded models in the E-Class and SL-Class

    Simultaneously with the C-Class (202 series), upgraded models in two further car series go on sale. The stylistically revised models of the 124 series are launched under a new name, "E-Class", and in the R 129 SL series, now called SL-Class, the SL 280 and SL 320 models succeed the previous six-cylinder models 300 SL and 300 SL-24.
