    With a press conference in the Mercedes-Benz Museum, Daimler AG launches its initiative "Shaping Future Transportation", which aims at the effective reduction of fuel consumption and exhaust emissions in commercial vehicles. At the kickoff event, Daimler presents 16 trucks and buses of the Freightliner, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Fuso, Orion and Thomas Built Buses brands with alternative drive systems and fuels. Two Mercedes-Benz Atego BlueTec Hybrid trucks in the 7.5 t and 12 t class celebrate their world premiere. They are presented as prototypes, as is the Mercedes-Benz Citaro G BlueTec Hybrid, the first articulated bus with serial BlueTEC hybrid drive and electric wheel hub motors.
