Gold Medal for Benz Patent Motor Car

Carl Benz gives a public demonstration of his Patent Motor Car at the Munich Exhibition of Engines and Working Machines. The "Model 3” he presents in Munich is the world’s first series-built petrol automobile and is awarded the Gold Medal.
