    Benz & Cie. submits a patent application for the prechamber system invented for diesel engines inented for the company by Prosper L'Orange (patent no. DRP 230 517).
In 1909, Prosper L'Orange mobilized the diesel engine Between 1889 and 1891, Rudolf Diesel had the "igniting" idea to develop the spark-ignitionless crude oil engine that is still associated with his name today. It still plays an indispensable role in the automotive sector today - and not only there. On February 28, 1892, Diesel filed the patent specification with his invention under the number 67 207.

Patent DRP No. 230517, registered by Benz on 14th March 1909, concerns "the combustion engine for liquid fuels" and refers firstly to the precombustion chamber principle in diesel engines discovered by Prosper L'Orange.
