Europeans form joint aerospace company

DaimlerChrysler, the French Lagardère Group and the French government announce the formation of Europe's largest aerospace company. The German-French group, entitled "European Aéronautic Defence and Space Company" (EADS), is to be created by merging Aerospatiale Matra S.A. and DaimlerChrysler Aerospace (Dasa).
