Daimler and Foton Motor sign joint venture agreement

In the presence of the German Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel and Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, Daimler and Foton Motor sign a contract in Beijing establishing a 50:50 joint venture between the two companies. The agreement covers plans to produce medium and heavy-duty trucks under the brand name Auman, with local engine technology from Mercedes-Benz.
