    After taking fifth place in the Brazilian Grand Prix in Interlagos, the penultimate race of the season, Jenson Button becomes Formula One world champion driving the Brawn-Mercedes BGP 001. Three of his six wins were achieved in succession using just one engine. Brawn-Mercedes also wins the Formula One constructors' championship.
