World premiere for "Vision GLK FREESIDE" and "Vision GLK TOWNSIDE" in Detroit

    The upgraded SLK models of series R 171 make their debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Michigan/USA. The two studies, "Vision GLK FREESIDE" and "Vision GLK TOWNSIDE", also celebrate their world premiere. They preview a compact SUV model which will come out on the market in the autumn as the GLK. The hybrid vehicle studies "S 300 BLUETEC HYBRID" and "ML 450 HYBRID" have their US premiere.

Mercedes-Benz ML 450 HYBRID, hybrid vehicle study, model series 164, 2007. Equipped with the combustion engine of the ML 350, V6 petrol engine M 272 KE 35, 3498 cc, 205 kW/279 hp, and two electric motors, the combined system output of the vehicle offered in the USA in 2010 - 2011 was 250 kW/340 hp. Power was transmitted via a continuously variable electric automatic transmission.
