MTU aeroengines division sold

The Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler AG consents to the sale of engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines GmbH, Munich, to the US financial investor Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR). The closing of the transaction, which is still subject to the approval of the DaimlerChrysler Supervisory Board and the antitrust authorities, takes place in December 2003. MTU Aero Engines will continue its programmes and joint ventures unchanged, especially the close strategic alliance with US engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney.
