25 years of the Unimog in Gaggenau

To mark the occasion of "25 Years of the Unimog in Gaggenau", in Baden-Baden Daimler-Benz presents the Unimog U 1000 as the first model of the 424 series, which supplements the heavy-duty range. Series production begins in February 1977. With the introduction of the U 1000, the Unimog and MB-trac models are given new designations in line with MB-trac 800 to MB-trac 1300 models. Instead of the engine output in hp, the model designations now contain this figure multiplied by ten and rounded up. The U 150 thus becomes the U 1500.
