  • Post-war passenger car production at Daimler-Benz AG commences with the final assembly of the first 170 V (W 136) pickup, van and ambulance versions. A total of 214 units are manufactured by year's end. Assembly no longer takes place in Untertürkheim, but at the Sindelfingen plant.

  • Daimler-Benz AG is once again able to take over the Berlin-Marienfelde plant, previously placed under trusteeship. Manufacture of spare parts begins under extremely difficult conditions and by late 1947 two production buildings and two administrative buildings undergo restoration.

  • The American military government commissions Daimler-Benz AG to set up a large repair workshop for military vehicles in Waiblingen. The plans involve a workforce of 800 employees carrying out repairs on 400 vehicles per month. Another facility mainly for truck repairs emerges in Uhingen.

  • The company's entire vehicle and engine sales operations are put under central management in Untertürkheim. This signals the end of the extensive independence enjoyed by the plants in the different occupied zones, which up to now have had their own procurement and sales management structures.
