    The first Zeppelin LZ 1 airship, powered by two Daimler engines, sets off on its maiden flight from Friedrichshafen.
On July 2, 1900, the Zeppelin LZ 1 airship completed its maiden flight over Lake Constance near Friedrichshafen. The four-cylinder Daimler engines onboard (model N) with a light-alloy crankcase produced 10 and 12 hp respectively.
