At the Auto Shanghai show, Mercedes-Benz for the first time showed the Concept A-Class study and provided an outlook on the visual and technological future of the compact class. The highlights of this trailblazing concept car were a transversely installed, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, a dual-clutch transmission and a radar-assisted collision warning system with adaptive Brake Assist, which is able to reduce the risk of rear-end collisions. The new SLK (172 series), the new-generation C-Class (204 series) and the new CLS (218 series) also had their Chinese debut. The three B-Class F-CELL cars that had started off in Stuttgart in January for the F‑CELL World Drive arrived at the show in Shanghai right on time.
