Cooperation with GAZ

In the presence of the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, a Memorandum of Understanding is signed in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod between Daimler AG and the Russian truck manufacturer GAZ, covering the proposed manufacture of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans in Russia. Local production of engines, transmissions, axles and further components is also planned, to be used both in the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and in the GAZ product portfolio.
