World Championship title: Mercedes-Benz dominates Group C

    In Montreal, in the penultimate race of the season, Jean-Louis Schlesser / Mauro Baldi win in a Mercedes-Benz C 11 to take the drivers' title in the Group C World Championship. Jochen Mass is runner-up as in the year before. Mercedes-Benz had already captured the team title at Donington Park, UK, on 2 September, two races before the season's finale in Mexico.
