    Franz Hörner drives his 10/30 hp Benz racing car to victory in the Class XB race (for cars up to 10 taxable horsepower rating and with overhead valves) at the inauguration of the AVUS race circuit in Berlin. Hörner records an average speed of 118.1 km/h over a distance of 157.4 km.
First Avus race, September 24 and 25, 1921. Franz Hörner with co-driver Paul Gass claimed victory in the inaugural Avus race in a 10/30-hp Benz.
