World firsts at Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover

The third-generation Actros construction site vehicles make their debut at the International Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover. The road vehicles of the new heavy-duty truck series, including an Actros 1860 semitrailer tractor as "Trust Edition" special model, celebrate their show premiere. Also presented to the public for the first time is the Mercedes-Benz Zetros, a new series of extremely mobile cross-country heavy-duty trucks available as three-axle Zetros 2733 A 6 x 6 and two-axle Zetros 1833 A 4 x 4. The new products at the show also include various truck models with alternative drive systems: the Axor BlueTec Hybrid, the Econic BlueTec Hybrid and the Econic NGT Hybrid concept study have their world premieres, whereas the Atego BlueTec Hybrid is already being tested by customers since January. New products in the van sector are the show car Vito BlueEFFICIENCY, a Sprinter low-frame show car, the Sprinter 4 x 4 with part-time all-wheel drive, the Sprinter NGT with monovalent natural gas drive in an environment-friendly EEV version, and the Sprinter Plug-In Hybrid as a production vehicle of the second generation. The revised generation of the Travego touring coach series also has its show premiere; like the Setra TopClass 400 it is equipped with Active Brake Assist, the emergency braking assistant. In addition, the three-axle Setra S 419 GT- HD touring coach debuts to add another high-decker to the ComfortClass. The Setra S 415 NF low-floor regular service bus receives the prestigious “Bus of the Year 2009” award.
