Tentative agreement on passenger car production in China

During the visit of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jibao to Germany, signatures are placed under a project proposal of DaimlerChrysler AG and Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Company Ltd. (BAIC) for the production of Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class saloons in China. The vehicles are to be manufactured in a new factory in Beijing, which has an initial annual production capacity of 25,000 units.
