Construction of a new car plant in North America

At a press conference in Detroit, Michigan/USA, Mercedes-Benz Board of Management Chairman Prof. Werner Niefer announces that in the course of the year the company will begin construction of a new passenger car plant in North America to produce a four-wheel-drive sports utility vehicle starting in 1997.
