Benz wins Prinz Heinrich Rally

    The first Prinz Heinrich Rally, a touring car event under the patronage of the brother of the German Kaiser, takes place from Berlin to Frankfurt am Main via Hamburg and Cologne. Fritz Erle secures the race win in a 50 hp Benz tourer.
The first Prince Heinrich Race runs from 9th to 17th June 1908 over a distance of 2,201 kilometres (1,367.7 miles) from Berlin via Stettin, Kiel, Hamburg, Hanover, Cologne and Trier to Frankfurt am Main. The overall winner is Fritz Erle (No. 68) in a Benz 50 hp "Prince Heinrich" car. Benz & Cie. start in the first Prince Heinrich Race with a total of eleven cars.
