The one thousandth truck with hybrid drive left the production line at the Mount Holly plant of Daimler Trucks North America in North Carolina. This was a Freightliner Business Class M2 106 Hybrid with a permissible gross vehicle weight of 15 tonnes, powered by a 186 kW / 250 hp diesel engine with SCR (selective catalytic reduction) technology. This power unit was combined with a 44 kW electric motor, and already met the world's most stringent emission standard, EPA 2010.
