- Description: Mercedes Benz presents the world's first series-produced seven-speed automatic transmission for passenger cars, with which the eight-cylinder models of the E-Class, S-Class, CL-Class and SL-Class are fitted as standard. The 7G-TRONIC combines lower fuel consumption and higher acceleration with further enhanced shifting convenience. It is an in-house development of Mercedes Benz, based on more than 40 years of experience with automatic transmissions.
