This Finn from Turku was a versatile sportsman and became a track and field athlete at a young age. He founded a tie factory in the early 1920s; the thriving business allowed him to take part in racing events as a private driver. Ebb competed in the Finnish and Swedish Grand Prix between 1931 and 1937. He achieved several first and second places in Mercedes-Benz cars, winning the Grand Prix of his home country in 1933 and 1935, for example. As late as 1983, at the advanced age of 86, the Finn contested a commemorative race in a 1928 Mercedes-Benz SSK.
