Handover of the first Fdh G II large airplane to the air corps

    Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft hands over the first Fdh G II large airplane, manufactured under licence, to the air corps. By July all 18 airplanes of the series have been delivered. Afterwards production of the further developed Fdh G III starts up in Sindelfingen. DMG builds 245 units in all.

An agreement with Flugzeugbau-Friedrichshafen GmbH ( Aircraft Construction Company Friedrichshafen – FF) on 28th September 1916 enables the Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft (Daimler Motor Company) to build FF aeroplanes under licence and to equip them with Daimler engines. The photo shows the large G III aeroplane with two D.IVa 260 hp/191 kW Daimler-Mercedes aero-engines fitted in tandem. Taken around 1916/1917. In front: the proud designers.
