  • Description
The Mercedes-Benz product range is expanded by six new diesel passenger cars with CDI direct injection engines. The market introduction of the C 200 CDI and E 220 CDI – both available as Saloon or Estate – and the E 200 CDI is joined by the launch of the A 170 CDI. This is followed in September by a second A-Class diesel model, the A 160 CDI.
Mercedes-Benz A 170 CDI (initial sales designation: A 170 TURBODIESEL), model series 168, 1998 version, ember red (594). Close-up of the model badge on the tailgate, right side. The 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine OM 668 with 1689 cc and 66 kW/90 hp was systematically equipped with all the latest advances in diesel technology, and configured for the special installed position in the A-Class. Electronically controlled common-rail direct injection, turbocharger with intercooler and four-valve technology made this front-wheel drive model highly economical with a high level of refinement.
