With its enormous driving performance, this world record vehicle impressively underlines the proverbial longevity of Mercedes-Benz automobiles, which as taxis shape the streetscape of many German cities as well as international metropolises. Mr. Sachinidis had taken over his vehicle in 1981 in Germany with about 220,000 km on the speedometer and transferred it to Thessaloniki. There he operated the car around the clock as a taxi until July 2004.
