Prototype of the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Roadster, which was shown in 1954 in New York. The unique characteristics of the prototype are recognisable, such as the engine bonnet down to the radiator grille with the small air scoop, differing radiator grille proportions and sleekly shaped rear wings without the characteristic fins. By the start of production in 1955, Walter Häcker reworks these details of the 190 SL's shape.
