Born on 04.04.1874 in Möglingen in Württemberg. He started to work at Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft on 5th October 1896 as locksmith. On 1st January 1900 he became a master of racing and passenger car construction. Since 1898 he took part in eight days distance track in Vienne on one of the Daimler trucks against horses. After the fourth day some of the horse carts dropped out. Otto Salzer was the first who reached the goal. Since 1906 he was also a racing driver and belonged to the most outstanding Mercedes drivers of the old school. Salzer died on 07.01.1944 in Obertürkheim.
