Born on 20.12.1882 in Esslingen. He started his work at Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft as an engineer on 26th November 1902 and worked there with a study interruption until 1st July 1905. Then he worked at the Eisenach vehicle factory for 5 years and came back again to Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft on 1st Oktober 1910.

Max Sailer was a technical director and a representative board member of Daimler-Benz AG. Since 1934 he ran vehicle design and development depatment where also racing cars belonged. In 1914 he was a part of the most famous Mercedes team. He part there in the Grand Prix of France, the Targa Florio (with a success two times in a row), the Italian Alps drive or the international Automobile tournament of Baden-Baden. In 1942 he retired and died on 5th February 1964 in Esslingen by Stuttgart.
