Also based on the 425 series was the 435 series, whose models differed in having longer wheelbases and higher engine outputs. The series was in production from 1975-1993, with a total of 30,726 units in 8 model variants. The most successful model was the U1300L, which was delivered to the German armed services and fire brigades in large quantities. The 435 series was also the basis for various special-purpose vehicles such as the TM series by Thyssen. Furthermore, the 436 series was developed on the basis of various models and produced under licence at the Aksaray plant in Turkey.
