  • Mercedes-Benz extends its commercial vehicle model range, adding the semitrailer tractor LZ 7000 with a rated payload of 7 tonnes. The 4-tonne LZ 4000 follows in June.

  • Daimler-Benz presents the Lo 2000 in the diesel engine version at the Geneva Motor Show. The new 2-tonne truck is the world's first series-produced light-duty truck with a diesel engine. With its outstanding economy, the Lo 2000 Diesel not only contributes to the ultimate breakthrough of the diesel truck, but of the truck in general.

  • Manfred von Brauchitsch wins the AVUS race in Berlin in a Mercedes-Benz SSKL, setting a world record for its class of 200 km/h. The version used in this AVUS race has a streamlined body built by the firm Vetter in Fellbach, and its shape prompts von Brauchitsch to give it the affectionate nickname "Gurke" (cucumber).

  • The Ordinary Shareholders' Meeting of Daimler-Benz AG votes to dissolve the reserves of 2.27 million Reichsmarks (RM) and reduce the share capital to RM 43.62 million by recalling common shares with a par value of RM 6.74 million. Both measures only partly cover the losses incurred in the 1931 financial year.
