    Berlin - Braunschweig - Kassel - Nuremberg - Strasbourg - Metz – Homburg v. d. H.

After the idea of a handicap for factory drivers caused some displeasure in the second Prinz Heinrich Tour, this passage was removed from the regulations for the next event. The third Prinz Heinrich Tour was held from 2 to 8 June 1910 over 1945 kilometres on the route Berlin - Braunschweig - Kassel - Nuremberg - Strasbourg - Metz - Homburg vor der Höhe.

Benz brought ten completely redesigned special touring cars with aerodynamically optimised bodies to the starting line, which – as was customary at Benz – were equipped with different engine variants. Four vehicles had a 5.7-litre four-cylinder engine with 80 hp, six others had 7.3 litres of displacement and 100 hp. The competitor from Untertürkheim lined up eight cars, whose four-cylinder engines mobilised 65 hp from a displacement of 4.5 litres. As in the previous year, the 1910 Prinz Heinrich Tour did not end with the hoped-for victory for either Benz or Mercedes. The best-placed Benz, a 5.7-litre car with 80 hp driven by Fritz Erle, finished in fifth place behind three Austro-Daimlers and an Opel. The best-placed Mercedes, driven by Theodor Pilette, achieved 7th place.
