Daimler-Benz makes Opel "Blitz" under license

    On the instructions of Speer, the Minister for Armaments and war Production, Daimler-Benz AG signs a licensing agreement with Adam Opel AG for production of the 3-tonne Opel "Blitz" truck. Manufacture of the truck – given the internal designation L 701 – does not get underway in Mannheim until August 1944, however.
