Daimler motorcycle - After successful test drives of the one-cylinder engine ("grandfather clock"), Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach made their next vision come true - a vehicle driven by a combustion engine. In order to keep the construction expense at a minimum, they decided for a two-wheeler. The "Reitwagen" was the world's first motorcycle: in November 1885, Gottlieb Daimler's son Paul took it on its first ride from Cannstatt to Untertürkheim, reaching a top speed of up to 12 km/h.
