This Briton lived in the then British Crown Colony of Kenya in the 1950s and, after the country gained independence in 1963, in England until his death. From his African residence, he competed in various Jaguar sports cars up to the D-Type and also made a name for himself as a rally driver.

What stood out were his good results in the East African Safari, where his knowledge of the local conditions stood him in good stead. Manussis' greatest success was probably the overall victory in the East African Safari 1961 together with W. G. Coleridge and David Beckett in a Mercedes-Benz 220 SE.
