As co-driver for Walter Schock from Stuttgart, this qualified engineer achieved a series of significant successes in rallying for Mercedes-Benz in the second half of the 1950s. In 1955, the duo finished fifth and sixth in the Monte-Carlo Rally and the Sestrière Rally in a 220 "Ponton". The following year, Schock/Moll won both the Acropolis Rally and the Sestrière Rally in a 300 SL "Gullwing". In a 220 "Ponton", they also took second place in the Monte-Carlo Rally.

In the 1960 season, this time driving a 220 SE "Tail Fin", Schock and Moll were successful in three rallies that counted towards the European Championship. They won the Monte-Carlo Rally for the first time, won the Poland Rally and once again the Acropolis Rally. In addition, the team finished third, fourth and fifth at the Tulip Rally, the Germany Rally and they Genève Rally in Switzerland.

Roll Moll's professional path was also closely interwoven with the car. As early as 1957 he became a member of the German Motor Vehicle Inspection Association DEKRA and held the position of Chairman of the Board there between 1968 and 1996.
