    The first locally produced Mercedes-Benz Sprinter left the production line at Fujian Daimler Automotive (FDJA), the joint venture formed in 2007 between Daimler AG, the Chinese Fujian Motor Industry Group Company (FJMG) and the Taiwan-based China Motors Corp. (CMC). After the multi-purpose Viano and Vito, which had been in local production since April 2010, the Sprinter was the third premium model in the Chinese van market.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: Start of Production in China at Fujian Daimler Automotive (FJDA): The production line roll-off event for the first locally produced Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van was held at the Fujian Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd (FJDA) plant in late October. In China Mercedes-Benz Vans is still the only premium automaker with its own van production. The Sprinter will be offered as a bus version.
