Uwe Alzen

This trained motor vehicle mechanic from Kirchen an der Sieg began his career in 1990 in national endurance races. In the DTM, he started in 1993 as a driver for the Persson Motorsport team in an AMG-Mercedes 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II DTM and became the best semi-works driver in the championship two years later.

After an interlude with Opel, he switched back to a Mercedes-Benz cockpit in the Warsteiner AMG-Mercedes team in 2001 and finished the season in second place. Milestones included his victories at the Norisring and Zandvoort in 2001 and at the 2002 Touring Car Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. Before the start of the 2003 season, Alzen and Mercedes-Benz parted ways.
