Eugen Böhringer's 200 km/h (124 mph) is much too fast for a dove on his way to victory at the VII. Argentine Road Grand Prix in 1963. The subsequent roll-over after hitting the bird ends back on its wheels. Boehringer appears to take it calmly and holds the corpus delicti up in the air. He and his co-driver Klaus Kaiser remain unhurt – also because they are wearing safety belts. The spare screen is secured with tape. This incident cannot prevent victory for the 300 SE with the start number 705, but it impressively demonstrates the stability of the body and the safety of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.
